Although Central R2O has changed over the years, one thing has remained: our desire to assist those in need within the community. One of Central Rent to Own’s employees, Doug Tuttle, is also passionate about helping out – specifically when it concerns Lighthouse Boise Rescue Mission and all they strive to accomplish in the surrounding communities.
Located in Nampa, Lighthouse provides homeless men in the Treasure Valley with shelter, food, addiction recovery, education, and a variety of other services. When Doug found out that Lighthouse’s washer had recently broken down, leaving the Lighthouse in a lurch and without capabilities to complete guests’ laundry, he set out to see if Central had a washer that we could donate to Lighthouse.
After a few days of searching and setting up delivery times, Doug was able to deliver the washer to Lighthouse himself! Reverend Roscoe was there to assist with the setup and expressed his gratefulness at once again being able to wash clothes for the guests of this men’s shelter, enabling them to do what they do best—provide for and support men in need.
Both Lighthouse and Central R2O are grateful to have been able to partner together to serve the Nampa community. A few days after delivery, Dough checked in to see how it was going and received the report that the donated washer holds more clothes than the one it replaced and is doing its job very well!
