We're rolling into summer and excited to pull out our favorite summer go to recipes! Let the outdoor dining begin! During the heat of summer months we don't want to heat up the house by turning on the oven, but we are still craving pizza. So we went outside and started up our grill. A fantastic result! Our pizza looked like it came out of a brick pizza oven. Delish!

Here's our recipe.

Ingredients

  • Homemade or pre-bought pizza crust
  • Pizza Sauce of your choice (bbq, marinara, ranch, etc)
  • Olive Oil
  • Mozzarella
  • Fresh Tomatoes
  • Basil

1) Make pizza dough and prepare toppings.

2) Stretch out pizza dough. You can also use a rolling pin if you are unable to achieve the shape you want with your hands.

3) Spread a thin even layer of sauce over the dough reaching to the sides.

4) Generously apply toppings.

5) Allow the pizza to rest for 10 minutes for the crust to rise a bit.

6) Heat grill to a temperature that allows you to put your hand over the grates for about 2 seconds.

7) If using a pizza stone place stone to top of grill grates and shut grill lid. If not using a pizza stone, spread olive oil on grill grates and transfer pizza from the pan to the plate.

8) Check frequently to make sure your pizza is not over or under cooked. The crust will be golden and bubbly.

9) Let set for a few minutes and then serve warm! Enjoy!
